Making a digital story on my Indian-American culture.any songs that would go with this theme? look in please?

[brown♥eyed♥girl] asked:

I am looking for a song (doesn’t matter if it’s Indian or American) to be the background music in the digital story I am creating for school. I am talking about how being raised in two cultures has raised my awareness for the cultures, and has had a positive aspect on my life rather than being raised in one culture. I am having trouble finding a song to fit in with this theme, though. Please help me!!!
It doesn’t matter if it’s in English or Hindi….any would be okay. Preferably a soft and nice song that would be good background music, and not overpower my talking (voice over) in the movie.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! =]

Check out “The Namesake” sountrack. You might be able to find it (with samples) on iTunes.

    EDIT:

Another song I particularly like, and is popular in India is Chaiyya Chaiyya, though it’s a bit on the powerful side. You can get that also on iTunes and it comes on the “Inside Man” soundtrack.

well since you’re just going to present this to american people, try to introduce everyone to our culture a little bit. so actually, just go with something that is soft, no words to it. and erm…yeah. there really is no song that can relate here to there. srry.
