Easy conversion is possible with these two excellent freeware programs
Foobar2000
MediaCoder
Foobar2000 is also the best audio player IMO. It doesn’t suck up resources like winamp.
MediaCoder is available for windows, MACtards, and linux.
If you’re especially lazy online conversion might be an option
