well i think u might need to upgrade your computer a bit more…. at least 512 mb of DDR but 1 gig is recomended… i use the Mbox 2 with pro tools LE 7.1 and it works fine on my computer Windows Xp 160 gig HD with 250 Added as a slave HD 2.3 mhZ and 512 DDR maybe you should look into pro tools i find it very easy to use and it is great for recording.

I have a intel 2.4HT with 512mb and 2 hard drives (20Gb and 40Gb). I am running XP with Cakewalk’s Sonar 4 and I don’t have any problems. My interface is PCI card based and I can do 8 channels at a time in and out. I don’t think you should be considering any major upgrade other than memory and I would go with 1GB. You didn’t say how much free space you had on your hard drive. If you are getting down close to the size of the swap file, you will have some very unstable performance. I would also consider going one step further than a system recovery and reformat your hard drive and reinstall XP.
